Thank you for those of you who attended the AGM. The main issue which came out of the meeting seemed to be that we were raising the 50 pence activity fee to a £1 to subsidise the coffee mornings. This is not true, the coffee mornings have always run at a loss but we are trying to keep them going for the 60+ people that do attend, we feel that the coffee mornings are the glue which keep Phoenix together. Without the backup of Phoenix many of the smaller activity groups wouldn’t even cover the hire of the room yet alone the new equipment and insurances we have to pay. So please come and support the coffee mornings. The positive things that came out of the AGM is that 2 ladies Pat and Di, from December, will be bringing new speakers/ entertainment to the coffee mornings let’s try and boost the numbers up. We will be listing up and coming events in the newsletter and Sheepfair notice board.
We’ve also had some ladies interested in organising the trips as long as we can muster up plenty of interest , they already have some brilliant ideas for different trips.
Just to remind everyone that all the members of the committee are volunteers , anyone can attend the committee meetings , if you want to have any input feel free to come along to Sheepfair every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. You will be made to feel welcome.
See you at coffee morning this month’s guest speaker is Kath Reynolds, chatting about food glorious food. November will be vocalist Lola Lamour.
