From the Chair (May 2014)

Hello and a very good morning to you and you and you over there!

A lot seems to have happened or is going to happen between the last coffee morning and today. Our daughter and granddaughter went back home to Scotland, we had a smashing Bank Holiday Monday walk around Tittesworth reservoir followed by a pub lunch, had an enjoyable trip to Lincoln, ‘me’ car passed the M.O.T, I had a birthday, the website went live and we received our tickets for our holiday. Phew! And there’s more, the May Day Bank Holiday walk took us to Osmaston near Ashbourne for another lovely walk and another pub lunch, we had the committee meeting on Tuesday then the music group held their second open day on Thursday morning and what a fantastic show they put on with songs from the war years, (if you missed this one you missed a real gud un) and on Monday 12th we held the annual invitation walk. Other news you should be interested in includes: the souvenir booklet is coming along really well as is the calendar with photos from the photo group and pictures from the art group, (get your order in early so as not to be disappointed). Don’t forget if you have got a broadband connection you can check out the website (just Google Rugeley Phoenix and you should be able to fine us) and see what we have done, I hope you like it!  OH you must have coz you are reading this! DOH!! Make a note in your diary for Edna’s strawberry tea on Sunday 27th July tickets will be on sale soon. Finally I am so sorry that Cynth and I cannot be with you today it’s been a hard decision but having given considerable thought to the issue I have decided to!

Go to Kefelonia for two weeks on holiday, I mean two weeks in the sunshine, swimming pool, cool drinks and Greek food or !!!!! “erm” hard choice.

Enjoy your morning see you when we get back!
