Speaking from the Chair (JUNE 2014)

Good morning everyone, hope you are all well!

Did you miss me at the last coffee morning? What do you mean NO!! I certainly missed you lot, it was such a relief. Only kidding!!

So what’s been happening then? What have you been up to while we were away? Not a lot I can hear you saying. Well let’s see if we can change all that now I’m back. First of all can I tell you about our holiday, what’s that, Oh, Cynth say’s you don’t want me to bore you with what we got up to so I won’t tell you. Did you know that the Pilates class has returned but this time on a Tuesday at 12 noon at Brereton and Ravenhill Parish Hall. The ladies who go are asking for men to join them but bring your own mat! Sounds interesting, just what does go on, on the mat? You fellas will have to go along and find out. Have you checked out the website yet? Just have a look at the photo group and art group galleries, you will find some stunning photos and paintings on there. We have some brilliant artists and photographers in our club and it’s something to be proud of, so have a look and see what I mean. Our twentieth anniversary year celebrations are taking shape and we will soon have some dates for you to put in your next years diaries or calendars. Talking of which don’t forget our own calendar will be available a little later so order yours early so as not to miss out.

The Monday walking group recently had a canal boat trip including a fish and chip supper instead of an evening walk, Brenda said that Bill always thought he could walk on water and this was as close as he could get. We had a great evening even though it rained, but not as much as last Mondays walk (just as the song went, “when you walk through a storm hold you head up high and don’t be afraid of the dark”) boy did it rain, and we had thunder and lightening to contend with, but we still managed to get 38 walkers back for a coffee at the end.

So that’s it for now, see you!
